Kinship Books of Rhinebeck NY

I have a nearly full library of most books by Kinship, I use them almost daily on both families related to the Weatherwax family, and research for my new book on the Sipperly family. Yesterday Kinship.com released a new and awsome website for their products. (I have no relationship to Kinship) The new websites allows you to search all of their titles by the family surname you are looking for. This is an awesome advantage now you can make sure a book has your family surnames in it before you buy it.!!!!
Be patient as not all of their titles have had the indexes yet placed on their website search function as yet, but Arthur is currently working on that aspect of the website and more data will be added.
If you are looking for pre 1850 NY ancestors Kinship provides the most extensive sources of Church book, vital ,and local records for many NY counties. Vist their website at: http://Kinship.com

John Weatherwax (1797-1830) & Margaret Pulver (?-1860)

Recent research has confirmed that their daughter Anna Maria Weatherwax (Witherwax) married Martin Edmund Vosburgh on 24 Feb 1842 at St. Johns Lutheran Church. Anna and Martin would have three known children:
1. Margaret O. Vosburgh 1845-1894
2. Franklin Vosburgh 1851-1914
3. Charles Vosburgh 1860-?
Anna M. Weatherwax and all children are mentioned in her husbands Will which was probated on 29 Feb 1872 Dutchess co. Will extracts.
His tombstone indicates a date of death for Martin Vosburgh of 5 Jul 1870, but that appears to be in error since he appears on the 22 Jul 1870 USC for Stanford,Dutchess co NY, with all family members matching!.
After receiving comments from Renee Zamora I did check the Enumrator instructions for USC1870. Clearly there it states that any household member who died between  June 1, 1870 and the date of enumeration of the family must be listed in column 3 with other family members. So it now appears that the Tombstone date of death is correct.

additional children of Martin M. Weatherwax & Mary Gouley

Pg:132 #107 Martin M. Weatherwax (3585)
Additional research on this family which had 8 children indicates two sons as follows:
Martin Weatherwax b:1820 Peru,Clinton NY, nothing further is known as yet on him.
John B. Weatherwax b:12 May 1835 Peru,Clinton,NY.;d: 30 Mar 1912 Chesterfield
He married 1st: Francis (unkn maiden name) abt 1860 AuSable,Clinton NY
He married 2nd: Julia Sophia Trow abt 1879 in Chesterfield,Keesville,Essex,NY
children were:
a. Mae or May Weatherwax b:1881 Chesterfield, she married George U. Bergouche
no known children
b. Alice Katherine Weatherwax b:2 Mar 1883 in Chesterfield, she married Erwin C. Darby
one daughter Thetis A. Darby b: 3 Oct 1912 in Tewksbury,Essex,MA
What is interesting is John's dod as indicated in Death Records of Chesterville Village. This data conflicts with USC 1910 where his wife and daughters are living in Plattsburgh and she indicates she is widowed!
There still remain 2 daughters unidentifed in this family which may have been infant deaths.

James Montville Weatherwax 1837-1907

Often known as Montville Weatherwax he is also identified in his sons marriage record as Jonas M. Weatherwax.
In June of 1860 he registered for the draft in Sturgis,MI.; next line below is for a Charles Weatherwax (possible relatationship?) both are single farmers ages 20 and 28 respectively. I sent for a copy of his CSR hoping to identify his parentage. He enlisted on 22 Aug 1864 and was discharged in Pulaski,TN on 10 June 1865.
His CSR uses the names Montville and James M. Weatherwax. His parents are simply identified as Mechawin Weatherwax and (?) Seabolt for his mother. He married Adelaide I. Stephenson on 5 Sep 1869 in Centerville,MI (MI Marriage record found). In USC 1870 he is living in White Pigeon,MI as a stone mason. In USC1880 we find him and his 2 children: Lathrop and Frank Weatherwax.
He applied for and was granted an Invalid pension on 5 Sep 1884 for his servie in H Co., 8th Cav MI.
In USC 1900 he is in Muskegan,MI with wife Adeliade and son Frank.
He died 14 Aug 1907 in Ionia,MI. He is buried in White Pigeon,MI (MI Death record found)
His line appears to have died out with his grandson Leighton Weatherwax son of Lathrop who died in Trinity, CA. 1965. No known descendants from son Frank who had 2-marriages have yet been found. Tracking him shows that his age is consistently different in the various records found. His dob range is from 1834-1837 depending on the record found.
There is no identifiable Mechawin Weatherwax or any Seabolt marriage connection I can find in MI records so far. Anyone with any information please contact me

Arthur W.B. Weatherwax +2647 spouse correction

Pages 427,617-618 of The Weatherwax Genealogy apply

+2647 Arthur W.B. Weatherwax (8555) shows as being married to Elizabeth Della Waid (8560).

The name of his wife needs to be corrected as follows:
She was: Della L. Holbert;b:Sep 1898 in Marion WV. Her parents were: George B. Holbert and Lillie Dale Freeman.Matching her and her parents and Grandparents in various USC, along with her sister living as single with her in USC1920 corrected her maiden name.
Further research on the Eliza Delia Waid previously sited shows conclusively that she could not have been Arthurs wife due to her age (est 12yrs old)when Arthur's children were born. Previous researchers have continued to show this error which needs correction.
After the death of her mother Lillie Dale Freeman, Della was left living with her grandfather; John W. Freeman (USC1910 in Winfield,Marion WV)
Both Arthur and Della died in Sarasota co. FL. Arthur on 15 Mar 1980 in Bradenton and Della on Dec 2001 in Sarasota.

Andrew J. Weatherwax (1745-a1908) 2nd marriage found

A 2nd marriage has been found for Andrew J. Weatherwax son of: George Weatherwax and Nancy Miller. His first wife was Nancy S. Bradley, they married 17 Sep 1872. They had 6 children. His second wife was the Widow Elizabeth BLACK, they married on 8 Mar 1908 in Stark co. OH. Viewing the transcription on Familysearh.org does not show the prior marriage data. You must select the digital image on the left side of the screen to view additional data not transcribed. Clearly he indicates being divorced, and she indicates being widowed. Her father is listed as John Rawk, but the image seems to indicate John Ruah? could not locate either in Ohio.

Charles E. Weatherwax 1881-1945 correction

PG487 3096 (2726) Charles Edward Weatherwax
The following marriage corrections apply. He 1st married Louisa Peria on 26 May 1904 in Cuyahoga co. OH. Sometime before USC1910 they were divorced.
His 2nd marriage was on 5 Sep 1910 to Minnie L.Lant again in Cuyahoga co. OH. That marriage record clearly indicates that Charles was divorced. In USC 1910 he is living as a single male on 9 May 1910 in Portage,Summit OH. So his divorce was before that date. I have not yet located the divorce record.
